Chilbolton Observatory
Future Communications Test Environment
Supporting the evaluation of atmospheric effects on signal transmissions, this facility provides access to an open-air test site, enabling a safe and controlled environment to demonstrate pioneering technology and supporting contributions to the development of secure communications.
Access to expertise
Building on a long-standing involvement in radio communication and propagation expertise, our dedicated ream of data scientists, engineers and project managers offer customised levels of support depending on your requirements – ranging from full experiment completion to minimal involvement and site access only.
Access to facilities
The open-air test range is equipped with a raised cabin at each end, with a structurally independent test bench located inside. The benches are located 500 metres apart to allow assessment of transmission losses.
