Mario is the Space Weather and Radio Heliophysics Programme Lead and Heliophysics Group Leader at RAL Space. His main research interests concern the origin and development of the large-scale structure of the solar wind and its influence on the inner planets. A particular focus is the space weather phenomena it creates at Earth, understanding, tracking and mitigating its impact. He joined RAL Space in 2013 and prior to that, he was a researcher and lecturer at Aberystwyth University. He holds a PhD in Solar and Heliospheric Science from Aberystwyth.
