SpeQtre

Overview

Led by RAL Space and Singaporean technology company, SpeQtral, with satellite platform support from ISISPACE in the Netherlands. SpeQtre aims to test communications so secure that any attempt to intercept them is instantly detectable – a fundamental law of physics that makes the technology unhackable even by future quantum computers. SpeQtre represents a notably more difficult technical challenge: demonstrating the exchange of quantum information from a cubesat roughly the size of a microwave oven.

RAL Space involvement

Mission lead, systems lead and management of the satellite bus provider. Provision of classical optics and photonics systems along with electronics, control and data handling.
