Badr‑B

Mission overview

Developed in collaboration between the Pakistan and UK space sectors, the Badr-B microsatellite mission set out to advance Pakistan’s small satellite technology, developing international links and to develop low cost satellites, acquire know-how in all fields of satellite and instrument design/development. Alongside Earth observation using RAL Space camera technology, Badr-B also undertook measurements of the Sun’s ionising radiation.

RAL Space involvement

CCD (Charge Couple Device) camera development, project management of the tip mass experiment and satellite ground station involvement.

Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), University of Leicester, University of Kent and the University of Southampton.
