The research encompasses a wide range of interests, running
in close harmony with the space hardware projects and involved
collaboration with many university groups in the UK and abroad.
Scientists
at RAL are currently engaged in creating an experimental magnetic
shield to protect astronauts from deadly solar radiation. They are also
the COSPAR member institute for the UK.
