RAL Space Involvement
Thermal design for Broadband Radiometer (BBR) and optical, mechanical and electrical design for BBR's three telescopes. BBR is an instrument that will measure both solar flux and thermal flux and will take measurements across the light spectrum, from ultraviolet to far infrared. The majority of environmental testing, functional testing and instrument calibration was also performed at RAL Space facilities.

Subject
Earth Observation

Main Objectives
To advance the understanding of the cloud, radiative and aerosol processes that affect the Earth's climate

Launch Date BBR being constructed at RAL Space
Anticipated May 2024

Partners
ESA, Thales Alenia Space, Airbus
