While the majority of RAL Space's work is for the UK Space Agency and other government organizations, a significant and growing portion is sourced through industry, international cooperation including NASA, JAXA and ISRO or under contract to the European Space Agency (ESA).

The space industry is a highly collaborative environment; we rely on the strong network of UK and international partners on which to build success.

Responsibility for developing and maintaining these relationships resides within our business development team who are also responsible for generating new opportunities to help deliver and support RAL Space's strategic objectives, working closely with the RAL Space commercial, research, technical and delivery teams.

The business development team encompasses skills in opportunity development, customer relationship management, bid teaming and associated bid process management, providing a primary point of contact for organizations wishing to know more about RAL Space and collaborative opportunities.

In common with other members of the STFC business development community the RAL Space business development team are employed by the Business and Innovation Directorate (BID), providing a link to the wider STFC capability and external relationship base.
